Sun 15 March, 11.15 am: Public guided tour in English.

The Proliferation of the Sun

Until 10 May 2020

Light plays a central role in the oeuvre of the German artist Otto Piene (1928–2014), as do the elements fire and air. Alongside early paintings influenced by abstract expressionism, there are smoke and fire paintings, light installations and air sculptures on display. The co-founder of the ZERO movement created an oeuvre that is still just as relevant today as it ever was.

Lost under the Surface

Until 10 May 2020

This retrospective show on Brigitte Kowanz (b. 1957) conveys how, since the 1980s, the Austrian artist has been making it possible to experience the medium of light as both a stand-alone phenomenon and an information carrier.
