Exhibitions in 2019*

The exhibition program of Museum Haus Konstruktiv for 2019 begins with a show on contemporary art called Concrete Contemporary: Now is always also a little of yesterday and tomorrow. We will be presenting more than thirty artistic positions of contemporary art that refer to the Museum’s art historical heritage in this snapshot exhibition of constructivist-concrete and conceptual art, the multifaceted forms of which are still highly relevant today. In the summer, we will pay tribute to two fundamentally different artists in two solo exhibitions: Olivier Mosset (b. 1943) is considered one of the most radical representatives of contemporary painting. Using the questions of “What is paint ing” and “How does it work” as a starting point, he created a diverse oeuvre consisting of monochrome and abstract geometric works that rejects any kind of mystifying interpretation. In her solo exhibition, Kirstine Roepstorff (b. 1972) will explore darkness and its role in the formation of meaning. Although most often associated with the unknown and the uncanny, for Roepstorff darkness does not have any negative connotations. At Museum Haus Konstruktiv, she will build an installation that leads visitors from the darkness to the light. Autumn will kick off with no less than three solo exhibitions. Celebrating 100 Years of Bauhaus, we will show works by former Bauhaus student Roman Clemens (1910–1992) from our own collection. Another exhibition will showcase Camille Graeser (1892–1980) together with works by fellow Zurich Concretists and will explore the becoming of a constructivist-concrete artist. In addition, we will present the winner of the twelfth Zurich Art Prize (TBA).
