Susan York (b. 1951) has developed 2020’s special edition for Museum Haus Konstruktiv, producing four different cyanotypes on the basis of a 19th-century photographic process. In the four sheets created for Haus Konstruktiv, this American artist has visually addressed the museum building. The floor plans of the four stories used as exhibition spaces at Haus Konstruktiv served as a template. When superimposed, the four sheets provide a cross-section of the museum, so to speak. The stairwell forms the spine, from which the exhibition areas in the left and right halves of the building can be entered. The depicted floor-plan areas make it more than clear that Museum Haus Konstruktiv is situated within a historical structure. This building, which served as a substation for the city of Zurich until 1998, is not an orthogonal construction, but features several slanting angular situations.
