Carlos Cruz-Diez (born 1923) has devoted himself since the 1960s entirely to the theme of color, to which he attributes an autonomous event character due to its effect on our perception. The interaction of colors and the way they impact space are at the heart of his extensive groups of work that develop their own distinctive interpretation of Kinetic Art and Op Art, many of them in the collections of major international museums. In addition to paintings, reliefs, sculptures, and installations, Cruz-Diez has also undertaken many art-for-architecture projects and created works for public spaces.
