Ingrid Isermann

Ingrid Isermann (born 1943) is a cultural critic, writer and artist, and a proponent of visual poetry. The interaction of word and image, particularly in the field of Concrete Art, looks back on a longstanding tradition: its roots can be found, for instance, in the Dadaist text collages of Kurt Schwitters and, more systematically, in the Concrete poetry of the 1950s. Visual poetry creates a space for reflection on the relationships between image, sign, concept, sound and meaning.
